I had the privilege of meeting Cyril Hart last year for a school history project. What began as an interview became a memorable connection. We bonded over our shared love of hockey and the ups and downs of being goalies. He spoke with honesty and humility about his service in the Pacific with the New Zealand Army Artillery, and I was grateful for his openness in sharing his experiences. I’ll remember him as kind, thoughtful, and quietly strong. It was an honour to have met him.
