Gavin you were the best father-in-law. You and Judith must have been horrified when Brendon brought this strange creature with an incomprehensible accent to NZ and informed you that I was to be his wife! But both you and Judith welcomed me warmly and I immediately felt like I was part of your family, and I have felt that ever since. There are far too many memories to share but one that always sticks in mind is you sitting in a chair at Paraparaumu clutching your chest, gasping for breath, with sweat pouring off you, but insisting there was nothing wrong and there was no need for a fuss, and why on earth did the ambulance have arrive with lights and siren blaring and upset the neighboursđ You had a quadruple heart bypass I think a couple of days later!!đ But that was typical of you, just didnât want an fuss and got on with it, and Thank God that it wasnât your time to leave us on that occasion and we all got to spend many many more years with you after that. Your last few years were not easy but you faced them bravely (if a bit grumpily sometimesđŹ). And the last couple of weeks especially were very hard, but you knew all your family were there with you right to the end and you were never alone heading into your final journey. Rest in Peace Gavinâ¤ď¸ and Thank You for just being Youâ¤ď¸
Gavin your were my "big brother" & there for me when times were tough. Always happy to share advise & support . Together now with Judy & Toby & his Coker siblings Miss you big time Kevin
Sending all our love and support to you all at this time of grief and loss. Lovely service to celebrate Gavins's life, We have fond memories of times spent with Gavin, particularly when the girls were young. He was always an inclusive, kind Uncle. Growing up my memories of him was he was always making sure you felt comfortable and involved and was always happy to have a chat about anything and always showed an interest and asked what was going on in our lives. Love the Wiltons xx
Well Dad you're now with Mum. Say hello to Joanne as well. You were an amazing Dad who supported your family in every way you could. Whether it was on the sidelines at football or cricket, or helping renovate our houses. You taught me so much about how to be kind and passionate to other people. I will miss our phone calls and talks about politics, sport or what people shouldn't be doing at Parkside Villas. I'll miss you Dad but I have the comfort of knowing you're at peace and with Mum. Love you forever Dad.
