Tributes

At work Lynne and I were the oldest in the accounting team, so kind of like camp mothers. A number of the younger staff really got on well with Lynne. For me, Moira and Rob she was a very enjoyable member of our work Business House tennis team. My memories are more about the social times than the sporting prowess. A highlight was a day in a corporate box at the ASB Tennis women's tournament, which we were given by one of Lynne's clients and it came with a generous tab. Lynne had invited her friend Barbara who was qualified to make excellent wine selections for us all. While still working Lynne and I decided we would meet for bike riding when retired. So nearly 7 years ago Lynne and I set off on a bike ride on a Monday morning and continued doing so until it was no longer possible for Lynne. Heather joined us early on and a couple of years later Valda became part of our team. More recently we have had Josie join in and she got to know and love Lynne as well. Initially Lynne was the pacesetter and knew all the off road paths around Tauranga and the Mount. The cafe stops were the highlights with custard squares at the Whipped Baker in the Historic Village being a favourite treat. We've enjoyed some good Xmas parties. Last year's at Bobby's sitting outside overlooking the harbour, feeling sad knowing that it would be our last one with Lynne but it was somehow still the best. Us pedal pushers will all miss you Lynne.
