Firstly, we were impressed with the celebration of Chris's life! It caught the spirit of the man. Wonderful tributes and star performances from the children. Secondly, our memories of Chris are of his ebullience, kindness and humour. (He was Jenks's son!) Dave has memories of camping at Taupo with the Russell/Jenkins famiiies—Jenks on the ukelele, stars at night, laughter! So sorry not to have been able to attend but the live-streaming was a great consolation. Much love, Dave Russell and Louise Wrightson.
To Priscilla and family, Jenkins Family. Our deepest condolences to you and families. Thankyou for a memorable funeral service for a much-loved and respected cousin. Peter and Kay Brace.
To The Jenkins Family Thinking of you at this sad time and with our deepest condolences on the passing of Chris. Geo and Lyn Patterson, Hawera
Priscilla, Sam & Family, We were very saddened to hear of Chris’s passing and are sorry we couldn’t be there in person for his farewell today. We watched the service online — what a beautiful tribute to such a truly lovely and gentle man. Although it’s been some time since we’ve seen you all, please know that you are very much in our thoughts during this difficult time. Sending hugs, Paul (Woof) Barker & Liz Cole-Barker
Man, such a fitting funeral for a friendly, fit, father figure! Priscilla, 28 glorious years with Chris, so beautifully summed up by you and humourously by Sam. Having the grandchildren speak was the icing on the cake. Also loved your applause after the visual tribute. Why don't more people clap at funerals? :) I was privileged to work with Chris for 14 years. He was NKTT (newton King Tanker Terminal)! A rare, dedicated professional. And a caring, sensitive and fun-loving soul. He will always be remembered.
Chris you were so caring and funny an easy man to approach. I looked forward to seeing you and Pricilla when I was younger. Rest in love and peace no doubt you will be watching down on all of us.
So sorry to hear of Chris's passing. Used to have some nice chats at Boulders Bay. RIP
What a thoroughly decent man, no wonder my sister fell in love with him. Chris, thank you for the care and love you showed to the Richards Whanau, we were blessed to have you in our lives and are missing you terribly. I hope you find the best waves in Heaven and that my sister finds your monarch butterfly soon on earth. Thank you and RIP, Paul.
Sending my deepest sympathies to Priscilla, to Sam and to all of Chris' family. May we all be as lucky as Chris, to live a life with so many people who love us.
To Priscilla and all the family, warm and caring thoughts to all. Chris was always ready with a smile, and up for a chat whether at work, or by the water. A top man. Noel and Fran

His death notice says it all - “adored, treasured, dearly loved, doting, beloved, admired and surrounded by love from both near and afar.” He will understandably be missed by so many. Dear Bronwyn and whanau John and I were very saddened to read of Chris’ passing. Although we all drifted apart over the years it was always great to catch up with him and talk about happy memories of times in Hawera. It was obvious how proud and how much he loved his family and the surf of course. I will fondly remember his sparkly eyes and cheeky grin. I know he will be greatly missed.
To Bronwyn and family sincere condolences for your loss. May Chris rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him.
