My condolences to the Allen Family. I knew/worked with Ross when I was on the Oakura Community Council and particularly as Chairman. There were many community activities we were involved in and my proudest asscciation with Ross was when we created Matekai Reserve a beautiful recreation area within Oakura township. Of course there are many legacies such as that that Ross has left for the ages to come. I am sorry I have not been able to be at the funeral but am and have been thinking of Ross since leaning of his passing.
Dearest Evelyn and family, especially Julie, Grant, Stephen, Amanda, and partners. My deepest sympathy at the loss of a very special man that you all loved so much. May he rest in peace. All my love and blessings Jill
A much respected man who made a great contribution to community affairs, service and welfare over many years - throughout Taranaki and beyond. Qualities that equipped him to contribute to the reorganization of local government within the Taranaki Region and to lead the Regional Council through its formation, establishment and development. He cared about the people of Taranaki, strived to improve their lot with the provision of services and facilities and doing so in a quiet and forceful way during an exciting period of Taranaki's modern history. The level of his contribution will be equaled by few. A job well done. Rest in peace.
