Andy will be sorely missed at our club. He was a regular attendee of all our social outings and events. Several times he offered his house as a place for us to celebrate our Christmas social. Great barbecues in his beautiful gardens. His contribution to any event we had that involved members bringing food was his sumptuous smoked trout on crackers. So yum. Rest well Andy. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Lovely Andy, You are such a gentleman, with a great sense of humour and the love of a good chat. You talked so happily about your family, your farm life, fishing, machinery and your tractors, gardening and the birds that visit your property. Also, the cheeky cat that sits on your outdoor sofa and the bunnies that hop around on your lawn. We often bumped into you down at the local cafe having a yummy treat and whenever we saw you cruising out and about in your car you gave a cheerful wave, always relaxed and smiley. You enjoyed sitting on your sheltered deck in the sunshine, having a cuppa. You also liked watering the pretty roses and others flowers growing alongside your deck and by your front door, telling me you liked colourful blooms. It was always great to catch up with you, you’d stop as you walked your daily loops of your property and we’d chat about good stuff. You’d comment on the Tuis and their beautiful songs, and the Kereru that visits our Kowhai trees, saying they remind you of the bird life on your farm. You were so knowledgeable about all sorts of things, especially trees and things of the land. You also told us about the machinery you had on your farm and a great mate who lives locally and would go fishing with you. We already miss you Andy, we’ll plant some colourful flowering plants in your honour and remember our happy chats. Rest in Peace and Love. Our sincere sympathy to your family and all those who are grieving the loss of a wonderful man. Maria.
We loved living next door to Andy. He was just the best neighbour ever. We never saw him without that gentle smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. He was a great conversationalist and our chats would cover all sorts of subjects. Andy was a man of the land. He loved to tell stories about the farm, and he had such practical wisdom. Thank you Andy. You made living in our street so much better. We will miss you.
