Sorry that we cannot be with you in person today Wayne but we have been thinking about you a lot over the last 6 days especially the fabulous years of 70-71-72. When we looked through our photo album from that era it really brought a smile to our faces with lots of fantastic memories of the many good times we had together during those 3 years. How cool was it during this time when Bobbie & Gayle had the flat in Guyton street above the burger bar & across the road from the Grand Hotel. I remember the Saturday nights you crashed at my sleepout in Campbell Street & the awesome road trips & camping holidays we had together, especially Ohope beach over new year. Even though you & Bobbie moved to New Plymouth after you were married & Gayle & I moved to Auckland we still kept in touch over the years at the big birthdays. Thanks for convincing me into running the Auckland marathon over the harbour bridge in 92 with you, without your support I would never have achieved it. Farewell old mate we will always remember you as a caring & kind hearted special friend with a wonderful generous spirit. Philip & Gayle Roach
Farewell Wayne! Condolences to Bobbie and the whanau. A moving service in which so many fine things were said about Wayne's life. All the eulogies were impressive. Thanks to Eagers for the impressive live streaming.

He will be missed by many, many people. I will miss his fortnightly phone calls. Love you Wayne, RIP Diane & Jurg Wohlwend
Watching the funeral in Sydney was hard, but it was also such a wonderful tribute to Wayne and you should all be so proud. I know Wayne would be smiling from ear to ear knowing that he would be remembered and loved so much by all those around him. A wonderful tribute to a wonderful life. Special mention to Eagars Funeral Service for the fantastic coverage it was so well filmed it captured all the moments and was actually a pleasure to watch although in difficult circumstances. Thank you for allowing us the privilege to attend. I will always remember my Uncle Wayne.

It is with much shock and regret to acknowledge the passing of Wayne. We had what turned out to be a wonderful final conversation last Saturday in New World supermarket. Wayne was a much loved relative, schoolfriend, fishing mate, and paint and paper advisor, to me and my family over some 70 + years. He was always interested in extended family matters. To Bobbie and family, stay strong, he will not ever be forgotten. Sympathy and condolences to you all.
Oh Wayne, how sad to learn of your passing. 16 years we worked together, the longest I have worked with one person. We used to joke about our mothers giggle that we were bad. Your staunch attention to your job, i will never forget. Loyalty not ever surpassed by another. My hearfelt sympathy goes out to your beautiful family in this time of loss and heartache.
