Sydney Arthur Baker (Syd)
Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday 22 November 2019 aged 65. Adored soulmate of Jenny for 47 years. Adored and treasured Dad of Dawn and Glen, Kim and Craig, and Ben and Kat. Cherished Pop Pop of Grace, Jacob, Quinn and Matea. Donation to Hospice Taranaki would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Messages to the Baker family may be left on Syd’s tribute page at eagars.co.nz/syd. A service to celebrate Syd’s life will be held at the Uruti Community Hall, Mokau Road on Monday 25 November 2019 at 2:30pm, followed by a private cremation.

My dear friend I am sad not to be there today - to support Dawn (DJ) Kimmy and Jenny (JB) My best years were with Skid !! Mid 1980's - 90's We spent many weeks/years in camp - (most of which were supplied by NZ Rail as Skid as designer - builder) If Syd had put pen to paper with his yarns and stories - he would have given Crump a run for his money :-) RIP - my dear friend - I will never forget you and we will catch up one day. Crack open a beer when you see me coming up that "bush track" up there where are no doubt already entertaining other retired bush dwellers with yarns and stories Peter Milne - Marlborough Sounds
I am so very sad to hear of Syds passing. Special memories always with so much laughter. You are all in my thoughts with love across the globe. I am sorry I can't be there with you to see Syd off on this fishing trip. RIP you good bugger xxx
