Bereavement pānui on behalf of the Fortunato Whānau regarding the passing of their beloved Mother, Sophie Fortunato who sadly passed away on Monday the 13th of October 2025 in Whangārei.Whaea is currently in our care, where she will remain until Thursday, the 16th of October 2025. The family has advised that a vewing with whaea will take place 10am apopo, Wednesday the 15th of October. On Thursday at 1pm the whanau will travel with whaea to Whakapara Marae, where Whaea Sophie will lay in state for the duration of her tangihanga. Once on the Marae the final kaupapa will be confirmed.
