Tributes

Heartfelt condolences to all with John’s passing, from the wider Russell family. I recall his wit/sense of humour during visits at our respective homes either staying or popping in for a visit, always remember John & family as being very nice. In particular, I know my Dad - Ken Russell - would have been there in person today to pay his respects and share a few stories, unfortunately given his health and being located in Auckland it was not possible for him to attend. We are grateful for my brother Pete to be able to attend today and represent the Russell family. Our love and regards to all - may you comfort each other today and always enjoy your memories of John.

While my connection with cousin John was only recent and brief, he made an impression on me, with his cheeky humour and big heart. I am blessed that I had the opportunity to say goodbye while he was still with us. Forever in my heart John, my kindred spirit. Lots of love to the family for your loss. Rachel Dougherty
