I met Jan through her Canadian friend, Dale Galbraith. We shared a few memorable times together. Her adventurous and inspiring nature was, to me, amazing. My condolences and sympathy to her family, and all who were lucky enough to know her. Rest well dear one. Penny
Jan was an exemplary role model to all mums out there the kind of woman who set the bar with grace, strength, and love. She worked unbelievably hard to create a warm and welcoming home, one where you always felt seen, safe, and valued. Jan was not only interesting, but deeply interested. She would share stories from her incredible travels with vivid detail, painting a beautiful picture of the places she’d been and the wonders she’d seen. Yet, just as much as she loved to share, she loved to listen. She always took the time to check in to ask, to truly care with a kind and attentive ear that made you feel like you mattered. Her smile could light up any room, and her boundless energy was as infectious as it was inspiring. Jan lived with a joyful heart and a giving spirit. Our love goes out to Toby, Amanda and families at this sad time. Rod, Emma, Willy, Henry and Scarlett x
I met Jan through her cousin Pat many years ago and have always admired her approach to life and her 'get-up-and-go' . She was - and will always be - an inspiration to myself and any who knew and loved her. My heartfelt condolences to all her family. Erina xo
Jan has been a special friend to us for many years. We were introduced to her by Jean and Robin a couple who spent each UK winter in mangawhai for many years! Godwits I believe! we seemed to take over when they were no longer able to visit anymore! Jan took us under her wing and introduced us to many of her wonderful friends over the last 15 years! She’s also visited us a few times too in Bognor Regis. We have shared so many wonderful fun times. Amazing memories which we will always treasure. Walking, golfing, eating and the odd drink or two! We just can’t believe Jan is no longer with us and like many of you we want to say how much she will be missed. Sleep well Jan 💋💐💋 Big hugs from Jackie and Jo xxxx

Dear Sue, Toby and Amanda and all Jan's family We are tremendously sad to say goodbye to our beloved friend from New Zealand. Jan was not only full of life, laughter, and boundless energy, but together with Pat, she truly became like family to us over the years. She had a remarkable way of spreading positivity. Whether it was her generous hospitality in beautiful Mangawhai or the way she made everyone feel included and part of whatever she was doing, Jan created so many cherished memories for us. To her family: we are thinking of you during this difficult time. We’re sending you strength and hope that, with time, you’ll be able to look back and find comfort in all the special moments you shared with Jan. She will be dearly missed — also here in Germany. With sympathy and love, Maarit and Marco with Malte
