I am saddened to hear of Tim’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Tim in Wellington Paediatrics for many years. He cared deeply for his patients and always ensured they got excellent care. He enthusiastically shared his passion for Paediatrics and research with his juniors and medical students, pulling them to interesting cases. He wore a huge grin and was always up for a chat. Thank you Tim for all your teaching and support over the years, you will be missed. Sending my deepest condolences and thoughts to Marieanne, Emma and Tim's family and friends.
I’m am so sad to hear of the passing of Tim Savage. I remember his share of the sleep deprivation when his daughter was born, and how proud he was to be a father. He always had a smile, kinda like a great big permanent smile. Again, he cared deeply for his patients and worked tirelessly especially for those with chronic diseases. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
It was very sad to hear about the passing of Tim. I had the pleasure of working with him for several years at Wellington Hospital- he was a very kind supervisor, cared deeply about his patients and always had time to chat. Thinking of Marieanne, Emma and Tim's whanau and friends at this time.
To those who carry his memories Tim was part of the dream team of Endocrine fellows in Auckland - a golden age of paediatric endocrine research in New Zealand. Tim's always provided antidote when we needed it - a smile, a laugh, not letting the little things change your outlook on life. He always had time for a yarn, and even more time if it was anything to do with sport. He was part of our team. We made so many great memories when the team was on tour! Those years we had, put us on our journeys to where we are now - and so, I thank you Tim, for you made those incredible years what they were. Gone too soon Tim. Martin de Bock.
To Marianne and Emma, Please accept our sincere condolences on the untimely loss of Tim. We had the pleasure of meeting you all at Queenstown when my sister Mary and brother-in-law Dave visited New Zealand in 2020. Tim was so lovely and incredibly funny, he left such a warm and lasting impression. We are thinking of you and your extended family at this difficult time, Julieanne & Tim, Wanaka
Tim has left us far too early. I had the privilege of supervising Tim's PhD and his paediatric endocrinology training. Tim launched into his PhD in his usual way with gusto, excitement iced with a tinge of nervousness. The little things he faced would worry him but he always wore his best happy face and exuded joviality. Bit like a tin of coca cola, shaken and then opended... Fizzy as! He worked hard through his PhD and achieved an impressive 9 publications with his thesis, which is way above the average. Tim managed this while also completing his clinical training in endocrinology. This was a time of great focus for Tim. Tim loved his rugby and was a rabid fan of the men in emerald green. I would grimace on Monday morning when the lads in green had beaten our beloved All Blacks. Tim would turn up and sure enough at 8 am he would show up in my office radiant to crow long and loud! I will miss those conversations terribly. We will all miss you Tim. God speed and enjoy a high view in the stadium watching your beloved Irish rugby team. Wayne
We are heartbroken to hear about our dear friend Tim’s untimely passing. I had the honour and privilege to work, live and laugh with him in college, as junior doctors and even for a short time in Africa. He was kind hearted, genuine and a wonderful Dad. His energy, warmth and natural charm made him a fantastic friend. Our sincere sympathy to Marianne, Emma, his Dad Tim, John, Joanne and Evelyn . We will miss you forever Tim & carry the wonderful memories of you & the great times we spent together. Dave,, Mary, Alex, Julia and Harry O Donnnell Ireland
Tim, it was a pleasure to work with you. You always had my back, even at stupid hours of morning, or on limited sleep. You will be missed
