I got to know Mike back in the 1980s when he was a Taranaki County Councillor. As a councillor Mike was straight to the point, practical, a strong advocate for his community, and I enjoyed working with him. Well done Mike for your service to the community.
Aroha flowing to you Val, Darryn & all your family on the loss of beautiful Mike. We are so so sorry to hear this news. Mike was an incredible man -moving into Hussey St we bonded over fishing & gardening :) His cheeky smile, funny stories & positive outlook will always be cherished & I’ll be forever grateful for him teaching my boys the art of whitebaiting when we moved to Hall terrace. Biggest hugs, arohanui Esther, Andre, Joel and Khan xxx
