Mr Steven Craig Arnold

2 July 197515 October 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve, who left us peacefully on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Steph. Loving dad to Jordan and Kaylee. Much-loved son of Phil and the late Lyn. Beloved brother of Leigh, Robyn, and Janine.

A wonderful man who was also a cherished nephew, cousin, son-in-law, brother-in-law, and a dearly loved uncle to all his nieces and nephews.

Steve was not only a devoted family man but also a true friend to many. His warmth, kindness, and sense of humour touched the lives of everyone he met. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be carried forward by all who knew him.

We invite those who knew Steve to join us in honouring his memory, sharing stories, and celebrating a life well lived — a man truly and deeply loved.

Steve’s service will take place at Legacy Tauranga, 383 Pyes Pa Road, Tauranga, on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, at 2:00 pm.

For those wishing to mark Steve’s passing, donations may be made to Waipuna Hospice below.

Tributes

I remember first hearing of Steve when Steph was on a visit home to NZ. I could tell from the giddy smile that she was hooked and this fella was going to be someone truly amazing to have captured her heart. From then on it was always Steph and Steve, they were two peas in a pod and inseparable. It wasn’t long before I got a phone call about a baby on the way, and I was fortunate to have front row seats witnessing how much Steve not only adored our Steph but his babies too. While you lost the battle it was not because you gave up, your strength is an inspiration. Thank you Steve for your big heart and generosity. Thank you Steve for showing the rest of us how to be better people. Thank you Steve for loving Steph, Jordy and Kaylee with everything you had. Thank you Steve for being you. XX

Steve, myself & my brother kicked around together after we finished school, shared our first flat together in Palmy back in the late 90's. We had some great times over those years. Surfing, Skating & listening to our favourite bands while cooking a good steak over the barbie at the end of the day. Stevo, I always admired you bro, you were always focussed and a go getter, brother you'll be missed by all and remembered forever........My sincerest condolences to your Family! luv always Ryskie.

Steve and I met when we both ended up working at the captain cook bar, in the UK, that was over 20 years ago now. We bonded and formed a friendship over our love for our nephews at that time. You could tell Steve was a family man through the way he spoke of his nephews and family. We have lots of laughs while working at the cook together, and the rest of the crew. He once asked me if my partner Paul could show him how to walk like a gangster, as he was going to a dress up party as one and he thought Paul walked like one ha ha. I said bro u already do yourself. Steve was always up for a laugh and a party. Ironically we all ended up back in the Bay of Plenty after leaving London , where we continued to catch up on occasions at party’s and family gatherings. He was a great guy and because of that we will always remember him. Rest in peace mate. Enjoy watching over your family like you have always done

Steve was a great mate, met in London, I was a fresh off the boat kiwi, and Steve and the London NZ boys showed me some great experiences and every experience was different! Was a great person on the field and off, Most recently Steve flicked me a message to see how I was after a night out. He was that sort of bloke. RIP mate Reuben Brown

Steve, you're a good mate who will be missed. Crazy how we met in London coming from different parts of NZ. We had some great times playing rugby together and you might have even been pretty good, and some even greater times in the festivities afterwards. There was more fun to be had when you were working on the door of a local night club and probably times I can't remember but we knew you would always keep an eye out for us but don't worry what happens on the door stays on the door. Even after our time was done, we both ended up in Tauranga which was handy because I don't know any auto sparkies and being the mate you are you would always help out. Back then who would have thought we would settle down and have kids, well but we did, and you have a great family who will miss you. Me and the boys will keep going for a beer at the fishing club and I will have a lion red for you because I know you will appreciate the quality drop. We have lost a genuine nice guy, and you will be missed, rest in peace

Steve Arnold, our good mate and brother in life! I first met Steve in London but became good friends when we got home. Steve helped me with his auto sparky skills, fixing an old bus that I bought…to be honest there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix and we always had a laugh and a cold beer afterwards. With my business I was always getting Steve in to fix my vehicles and the thing with Steve if you were his friend he would always slot you in first before other customers . Steve you were such a family man and that’s what I admired the most about you, a genuine great Kiwi bloke with a big heart. We had some great laughs and as we got older it seemed to be fishing club Sunday afternoon beers . We’re a tight bunch of blokes that always have each others back and you are going to be missed but not forgotten as we all met at the fishing club Sunday just been to raise a glass or two for you and we’ll continue to do this. Rip mate ,fly high till we catch up again.

Steve — a true gentleman, a beautiful soul, and the legend who fixed the Ferrari electrics faster than we could open the bonnet. After a week of driving around in the dark, you delivered — in about five seconds flat! We’ll miss you dearly and remember you always — the drunken chilli-offs, the coffees, the laughs, and those random blueberry drops that felt more like a dodgy drug handover than a fruity supply. We’ll watch over your Steph and family with love. Shine on, our friend. ✨ xx

To my brother...thank you for being you. Evenvthough you were little brother, you were also like my big brother. You were Braver than you believed Stronger than you seemed Smarterctha you thought Loved more than you knew Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart. Rest in peace xxx

Steve you are such a loss to our family. No words are enough for a tribute to you. We always saw you as an amazing father and husband. Whether it was rugby, cricket or racing cars you gave your all to being there for Kaylee and Jordan. You always supported your family to explore their passions, and we admired that so much about you. You and Steph were such an awesome team that lived life to the full and showed everyone what a partnership in life should look like. You gave your best shot at everything you did in life, and you definitely did not miss. We will all miss you so much. As hard as it is to say goodbye, we know you’re in peace and we will always hold onto all the memories we were privileged to share with you over the years. From Dylan, Rebecca and the girls xx

Steve your laughter and smile will be missed, the way you greet us with a hug every time we saw you never failed to make us smile you light up every room you walked into. My favourite memory is how you chased Macey around the house to give her a hug because she was sad and pulling faces when no one was looking. Going to miss you so much. x From Mia x
