Passed away peacefully on 25 July 2025, aged 78 years. Dearly beloved husband and best friend of Shirley. Treasured father and father-in-law of Rachel and Jonathan, David and Georgia, Stacey and Adam. Proud Poppa of Reuben and Chloe, Aidan, and Hayes. Much-loved brother of Patti.
Thank you to the staff at Pacific Coast Village and Te Manaaki Care Centre for their kindness and care.
A celebration of Ian’s life will be held at Legacy Papamoa, 53 Te Okuroa Drive, Papamoa, on Friday, 1 August at 1 pm.

Taken some to think on our connection dating back to Tauranga’s and post Fiji. A work colleague a drinking buddy member of Northcote rugby club and over more recent times our friendship in whitianga with Ernie and Shirley diving fishing and socialising. These memories will never be forgotten by Mere and vic and our family. Rest in peace mate you had a full life with a lot of stories
