Many fond memories of my Uncle Athol. He played a major part in my early years when I lived in Napier, had the patience of a saint teaching me to dive! All my love to the cuzzies xxx

Athol was my brother-in-law and mate. We shared many happy times, my fond memories are of him enjoying a swim, cooking the BBQ and sharing a beer. He was helpful with his handyman skills and always happy to lend a helping hand. Rest in peace Athol my friend

Athol's loves included his family, Soccer, The Cosmopolitan Club, DIY and swimming. He built his own pool and enjoyed swimming his whole life. Many of his hobbies were shared by his four sons. He was very proud of them. Athol and I started off as friends and that friendship endured. He will be sadly missed.

I was so sad to hear of Athol's passing. My father ( DJ Olsson) and Athol met as residents at Oakland. Athol was a good friend to Dad, who passed away in December. I visited Oakland and saw Athol a few months ago and visited again last Thursday, when I learned Athol had died. Athol was always up for a chat. He was a kind man and a gentleman. Sending my condolences at this sad time. Kerryn Best
