With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Valerie Palmer, who died peacefully on 26 July 2025 at Middlemore Hospital, aged 81.

Valerie was the beloved daughter of the late Douglas and Dorothy Palmer, adored sister and sister-in-law of Alison and Olaf Firth, cherished aunt to Erika Mewes and her daughters Mara and Victoria, and to Ingrid Cureton and her husband Forrest, and their children Trevor and Olivia.

Valerie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Idea Services for their dedication, compassion, and support to Valerie and our family over the past 50+ years.
