Thank you Mrs Christian for being the Mother of our church and most loving and tallest presence amongst the women in our church. Thank you for sharing your rugby sideline mum stories with me, it made me more comfortable to share similar stories of myself with my kids. You were always very friendly. You came to Mangere Central School many moons ago with others to teach us the Bible. Me and my rugrat friends were drawn into you and the way you spoke to us. It was truly inviting and for once it was an adult that wasnt growling us. Go now and be with your beloved husband Roy, our famous Rugby League captain from Norfolk Island and Church Minister. May your legacy live on with your kids and grandkids in the future. Moe mai ra e Rangatira, You will be forever missed, Valarie Tongia xox
Robyn thank you for your sweet kindness generosity love and sincerity to all. Forever grateful for your presence.
After giving my life to Jesus Christ among the Mangere Presbyterian Church family the Christian family have been a great foundation to my faith. ROBYN and Roy were some of the wonderful people praying for me along with my mom and family and Robyn and Roy missed greatly.
Dear Robyn. It was in the early 60s that I first met you. I was a part of a group of Otahuhu boys. We were tight knit group. The 5 of us that included Roy went on many camping trips together. One day the group was infiltrated by a girl! Robyn plant-ed herself amongst us demanding the attention of one Roy Christian. We were aghast - was this going to break up the group. No it did not. Robyn loved us all from the start. Over the years on my trips to Auckland I have had many wonderful conversations with Robyn on various topics. Robyns knowledge was amazing and I didnt want to leave. I was always made welcome and will miss this wonderful friend. Rest in peace Robyn with your amazing husband Roy.
Robyn thank you for everything that you have done for us especially mum and dad. It has been an honor to know a beautiful spirit inside and out. You have been the light and love when ever we meet and your smile is infectious. You will be sadly missed. Love always Atafu Family.
