So many happy memories Jimmy. You always looked after all of us. I remember you coming to our house to play the piano. You had decided to take piano lessons and we were the only ones with a piano. My Mum (Aunt Isa) loved to hear you play. Take care. Senga. xxx
My “big cousin” who I remember from the days we all went swimming at Alloa swimming. Baths in the 1950’s. He was beside me when I went too far into the deep end and suddenly learned to swim (or drown) . Jimmy wasn’t fazed and just asked me if I was ok. RIP Jimmy in that far off land you chose as your home. Andrew
I inherited Jim as a tenant when I purchased the property where he lived in 1997 and I believe he had been there several years prior to that having worked in the TV repair shop at the front of the property. Over the following 28 years I got to know Jim and we’d often have conversations about golf, Thailand and Pauanui to name a few topics. My wife Beverly was also very fond of Jim. She got to know him when she occupied the flat next door for her business a few years back while we did renovations at home. I found him easy going and nothing was ever a problem, always being greeted with a friendly welcome. Only once in 28 years did he ask me to fix something and his rent was never a day late. We had an understanding that he could call his flat his home till the day he died, which unfortunately came to pass last Wednesday. Rest in peace we will miss you.
Rest in peace in that far away land (Aotearoa) The land of the long white cloud Here, at home, we will forever remember you and as my brother, I will always be proud
Jim was Always so cheerful and positive. He Could see the light in amongst all the grey. Although we didn’t see a lot of each other I will treasure our conversations always. Best stepdad, best man and great friend will love and miss you 🥰 RIP Vickie
