Tributes

I first met Rod over the phone when I started helping with The Axemen's News publication. At that stage I had already read his article, beautifully handwritten on a sheet of lined refill. Rod was always on for a good chat and once I'd clarified what I needed to know, we would always have a yarn. I learnt a lot about Central history and the axemen of Rod's generation. More recently Rod joined the National Executive and continued to give service as the Central representative, loyally supporting their view, even if it wasn't his own. Rod's passion for the sport of woodchopping is particularly notable as it extended long past his own days of competition, Right until the very end of his life. This outstanding contribution is recognised by those who knew him in the woodchopping world and is gratefully acknowledged. Our respects and condolences to Rod's family.
