I have been inundated with replies of sorrow and respect from our members of the Airfield Defence Association. I have not experienced such an outpour of emotions since becoming President. My thoughts will be with you on the day. Veterans day is approaching and it is my intention that, we will lay a wreath at the service in Hervey Bay in memory of your father. His conviction and contributions in those early years were pivotal in development of a viable force of Airfield Defenders. That was no small feat. Warm regards & Lest we forget Clive. I first met Clive Nelson when I joined the RAAF as an Airfield Defence Guard and he was the Commanding Officer of the training unit (RAAFSFS) in 1988. He was a fine officer and a gentleman. Clive always had time to stop and chat to the ADG trainees whenever he was within earshot of us. I valued his Leadership, guidance, honesty and integrity way back then and that continues on to this very day even after his passing. Clive you will be missed and remembered by those who had the honour of meeting you along the journey. May you forever rest in peace my friend. Mat Howell FSGT ADG retired.
